Hi, welcome to the SplitHappens testing family
SplitHappens - Split bills by receipt, not by guesswork
SplitHappens is an expense sharing app for friends built around one core idea: instead of entering a total amount and splitting it evenly, you photograph the receipt and every line item is detected automatically. Each person sees exactly what they ordered and what they owe - full transparency, no rounding disputes.
Key features:
- Receipt scanning via OCR - individual positions, not just totals
- Event mode for trips: track multiple bills over several days, settle up with the minimum number of transactions
- No app required for everyone - guests receive a web link showing their items and what they owe
- Works for restaurants, grocery runs, or any receipt you can photograph
- Available in English, German, Spanish, and Italian
What I'm looking for in testers:
I'm looking for people who actually split bills with friends - whether that's at restaurants, on group trips, or for shared household expenses. Use it in a real situation and tell me what works, what's confusing, and what you'd expect the app to do differently.
If you scan receipts from outside Germany, that's a bonus - I'd love to know how well the OCR handles different receipt formats from other countries. There's a built-in feedback button after every scan to report results directly.
But general feedback matters just as much: missing features, unclear flows, anything that gets in the way of a smooth experience.
